Rafael Nadal beats Andy Murray in straight sets to reach French Open final
Andy Murray's French Open campaign came to an end in the semi-finals as Rafael Nadal celebrated his 25th birthday by showing just why he is the favourite to win a sixth title.

The world number four was looking to emulate Robin Soderling, the only man to have beaten Nadal in 45 matches at Roland Garros, but the Spaniard was in superb form and withstood Andy Murray pressure in all three sets to triumph 6-4 7-5 6-4.

The British number one was certainly not disgraced in his first French Open semi-final but the defending champion had banished doubts about his form in beating Soderling in the quarters and he stepped things up again today on Court Philippe Chatrier.
