UK lawmaker vows justice for slain Indian student

A lawmaker has promised the family of a slain Indian student that Britain will bring his killer to justice.
Anuj Bidve was shot during a night out in Salford, northwest England, on Dec. 26. A 20-year-old man, Kiaran Stapleton, has been charged with murder.
Britons were shocked by the apparently unprovoked shooting, amid speculation it might have a racial motive. And Bidve's family said they learned about their son's death from Facebook before British police contacted them.
Detectives were later sent to India to meet the family, and Bidve's parents came to Britain Thursday to take their son's body home.
On a visit to Parliament, Labour lawmaker Keith Vaz told them "we will leave no stone unturned in getting to the truth and your family will get justice."
