Tour Bus Crash Leaves 2 Dead, 37 Injured

Tour bus crash on I-390 in Steuben County


Strong Hospital has confirmed that they are taking patients following a fatal tour bus crash on I-390 in Steuben County.
Strong tells News 10NBC that they have four patients currently from the crash. Three were sent by helicopter and one by ambulance. They tell us three of those victims are in guarded condition, and one is in satisfactory condition at this time. Strong tells us they do  not expect any other patients at this time.
State Police say the crash happened on I-390 in Avoca, Stueben County and have confirmed that there has been at least two fatalities. The victims were on a Bedore Tours bus that was heading from Washington D.C. to Niagra Falls. State Police also told News 10NBC that there were 36 passengers and a driver on that bus and that all 37 people were sent to various hospitals.
State Police say they have reason to believe that a flat tire caused the crash, but that they are still investigating the scene at this time.
We are told that the victims injuries ranged from serious injuries to minor cuts.
Red Cross also tells us that they are providing victims who have been discharged from the hospital, with a hotel stay for the evening.More...
