Winnipeg's large Sudanese population could barely contain their excitement, as they marched through the streets chanting, followed by an all-day celebration with music and dancing. Celebrations in South Sudan Saturday were attended by international dignitaries including Ban Ki-moon, the UN secretary-general and former U.S. secretary of state Colin Powell. Organizers of Saturday's parade in Winnipeg said there are an estimated 3000 Sudanese in Manitoba.News... |
